3/4 lb. butter, room temperature
6 lg. eggs
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
3 c. self-rising flour (must be)
3/4 c. milk
Dash of mace

Put ingredients in a bowl and beat for 15 to 18 minutes, scraping the sides of the bowl. Butter and flour a 10 inch tube pan and pour mixture in. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake for 1 hour, 10 minutes. Turn off the oven and let stand 10 minutes. Place on rack - cool.
