2 1/2 c. warm water 1 dry yeast 1 tbsp. sugar 4 1/2 c. flour 1 tbsp. salt Dissolve yeast in warm water. Mix with dry ingredients, using a wooden spoon. Let raise until double and stir down with a spoon. Put mixture in a large cookie sheet, which has been greased and sprinkled with cornmeal. Oil hands and spread mixture in cookie sheet. Let raise until doubled or bubbly. Top with ingredients for topping. Before putting in center rack in oven at 350 degrees, go across dough lightly with fingers (but don't go to the bottom of sheet). Bake at 350 degrees for abut 45 minutes or until golden brown. Note: Also sprinkle a little oil after you remove it from oven. |
