NANNIE'S CHOCOLATE SAUCE 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. slivered chocolate (2 squares)
1/4 c. cocoa
3/4 c. sugar
Pinch of salt
1/2 c. thin cream or milk
1 tsp. vanilla extract

Using either a heavy pan or a double boiler, melt butter and slivered chocolate until smooth. Add cocoa, sugar and salt. Stir. Add milk and vanilla, stirring until boiling point is reached. Yield: 1 pint.
