1 ALARM VEGETARIAN CHILI 
1 lb. mushrooms (fresh or canned)
1 sm. green pepper, 1 sm. onion
1 lg. can whole tomatoes (reserve juice)

Also will need:

3 cans beans, drained - any combination (white kidney, white pinto)
2 tbsp. oil
1 (8 oz.) can puree or sauce
2 c. water
1 tsp. minced garlic
1 tsp. minced onion

SPICE:

1 tbsp. paprika
1/2 c. chili powder
1 tsp. ground oregano
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. red pepper

1. Saute mushrooms, green pepper and onion with 1 tablespoon oil. Place in crockpot or large saucepan.

2. Put cut up tomatoes in pan or crockpot.

3. Saute garlic and onion in large skillet in 1 tablespoon oil.

4. Add puree, spices, water, reserved tomato juice and "Mesa" (use 2-3 tablespoons flour to substitute).

5. Simmer 20 minutes.

6. Combine beans and sauce with crockpot mixture.

7. Serve with shredded Cheddar cheese n top.

NOTE: 2 Alarm - Increase red pepper to 1 teaspoon; 3 Alarm - Increase red pepper to 1 1/2 teaspoons; 4 Alarm - Increase red pepper t 2 teaspoons. (Have water readily available!)
