LALLA ROOKH CREAM | |
This dessert is like a Bavarian Cream. 3 eggs, separated 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup cream 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin 2 tablespoons milk 1 tablespoon rum 1 cup cream, whipped Beat egg yolks and add sugar and cream. Cook over hot water (double boiler), stirring occasionally, until the mixture coats the back of a spoon. Soften the gelatin by sprinkling gradually over while stirring into milk. Stir til dissolved, let stand for a few minutes, then add to egg yolk mixture. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Beat egg whites until stiff. Fold whites gently into above mixture along with rum and whipped cream. Turn into mold or bowl and refrigerate until it holds its' shape. Serve garnished with mixed fruit, if desired. Serves 4.
