WALNUT AND PECAN BARS 
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt

1/2 c. chopped pecans 1/2 c. chopped walnuts

CRUST:

1 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter, softened

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Blend first group of topping ingredients in a large bowl until smooth. Fold in coconut and nuts. Set aside while preparing crust.

Mix flour and sugar in a bowl. Cut in butter. Mixture should become like a coarse meal. Roll into a ball and press evenly into bottom of greased 9x13 inch pan. Bake until golden (10-12 minutes). Reduce oven temperature to 325 degrees. Spread topping on crust. Bake until set (25 minutes). Cut into squares while still warm. Makes 24 squares.
