1/2 tbsp. butter 2 lb. chunk steak, 1 inch thick 1 env. onion soup mix 1/2 lb. fresh mushrooms, sliced 1/3 green pepper, sliced 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes, drained and chopped 1/4 tsp. salt Generous grating of pepper 1/2 c. juice from canned tomatoes 1 tbsp. bottled steak sauce 1 tbsp. cornstarch 2 tbsp. parsley Place 20 inch sheet of heavy duty foil on a shallow pan. Spread center with butter. Cut steak into serving pieces. Arrange on foil, slightly overlapping portions. Sprinkle with onion soup mix, mushrooms, green peppers, tomatoes. Season. Mix tomato juice, steak sauce and cornstarch together. Pour over meat and vegetables. Bring foil up, seal tightly. Bake 2 hours at 350 degrees. Top with parsley to serve. Serve with rice or noodles. Be sure to keep tightly sealed while cooking, otherwise the gravy will evaporate. |
