To those that have wound up with Grainy fudge: I have been making various fudges for 50 years. I feel the graininess is a direct result of stirring too long. When fudge just starts to take on a dull look, get it spread as soon as possible. Also,it may be good to some, but I would never ruin any fudge recipe by adding marshmallows. Have experimented with this many times.
Have found,in side-by-side tests, the fudge with no marshmallows is always the best. I love marshmallows, just don't want my fudge altered by their flavor. Just my opinion :)

Very easy and quick but it took a while for it to firm up. But myself and my 2 yr old finally got a taste and it was good. I'll be trying it again. Thanks

If it's grainy, you cooked it too long! Do the 2.5 minutes and you'll be fine. I've made this again and again, recently I swirled about a cup of chocolate chips once it's in the pan. Omigosh it's heaven what a fabulous recipe!!!!

I used the Turbinado all natural sugar and my fudge turned out grainy. Next time I think I will use regular white sugar, I was so disappointed. Was really looking forward to this fudge. It's very soupy too.

Just made this, it turned out awesome. The only thing I did differently was add more peanut butter than the recipe called for.

Am 73, cooked forever. Made this yesterday, love peanut butter, disappointed, found it grainy and OMG overly sweet. A little better instr. might help. I started timing just as the first tiny bubbles came up, perhaps you should start when it first comes to a rolling boil. also think it needs a pinch of salt to cut the sweet. at the whisking point it never did firm, only after cooling in fridge then still semi soft. I want to try again but not risk wasting ingredients. Any ideas will be appreciated.

This is the best peanut butter recipe ever. I had a friend give me this recipe over 40 years ago. Only difference is add 1 well rounded tlb. of marshmellow fluff with the peanut butter and vanilla.
