ROSIE'S SPANISH RICE 
2 c. rice
4 c. hot water
1/3 of an 8 oz. can tomato sauce
Garlic powder
Seasoned salt
Chili powder
1/4 onion, chopped (opt.)
Cooking oil

Put just enough cooking oil to coat the bottom of a large pot. Add rice and cook until rice is slightly browned. Do not over brown rice. Add water and tomato sauce and onion. Add seasonings to taste. Cover; cook 20 to 25 minutes. Stir gently. Let stand 15 minutes before serving. Delicious as a side dish with steak or chicken.
