CORNBREAD TAMALE PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 can tomato soup
2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. flour
1 beaten egg
1 tbsp. cooking oil
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 c. whole kernel corn, drained
1/2 c. chopped green pepper
3/4 c. cornmeal
1 tbsp. sugar
1/3 c. milk
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder

Brown ground beef and onion in skillet. Add tomato soup, water, salt, pepper, chili powder, corn and green pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes.

For topping, sift together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add beaten egg and milk, stirring lightly until combined. Fold in cooking oil. Place meat mixture in greased baking dish. Cover with cornbread topping.

Bake at 425°F for 20 to 25 minutes until topping is brown.
