AWESOME TUNA CASSEROLE | |
Enjoy this different twist to Tuna Casserole! 1 (12 oz.) can albacore tuna, flaked 1 bag wide egg noodles (I like Dutch) 8 oz. extra sharp cheddar cheese, cubed potato chips, crushed (for topping) SAUCE: 3 cans cream of mushroom soup 2 cans water (use empty soup can) 1 large sweet onion, diced 2 green peppers, diced 8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced Cook noodles in pot of boiling water and drain. Mix cream of mushroom soups, water, diced onion, diced green peppers and sliced mushrooms in a saucepan and simmer over medium heat until peppers and onions are softened. Mix the sauce mixture, flaked tuna and cooked noodles together and put in a 13x9-inch glass pan. Stagger the cubed cheese into the mixture in the pan. Bake, covered, at 350°F for about 45 minutes. Sprinkle crushed potato chips on top of the casserole and place back in the oven uncovered for an additional 5 minutes. Submitted by: Wendy A. |
