CORN PONE CASSEROLE | |
1 can "vegeburger" OR 1 lb. lean hamburger 1 med. onion, diced 4 tsp. chili powder 1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes 1 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 (16 to 20 oz.) can kidney beans, drained 1 pkg. corn bread muffin mix Cook "meat" and onion until browned. Stir in chili powder, sugar, salt and pepper. Add tomatoes. Heat to boiling and turn down low to simmer for 30 minutes. Stir in beans. Mix corn bread according to package directions and spread over top of mixture. Bake 15 to 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Serves 6. |
