CORN PONE PIE 
1 lb. ground beef
1/3 c. onion, chopped
1 tbsp. shortening
2 tsp. chili powder
3/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 c. canned tomatoes
1 c. chili beans, drained
1 c. corn bread batter

Brown meat and onions. Add seasonings and tomatoes. Cover and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes, then add beans (kidney beans). Pour meat mixture into a greased 1 1/2 quart casserole. Top with corn bread batter, spreading with a wet knife. Bake in hot oven at 425 degrees for 20 minutes.
