ENGLISH MUFFINS 
1 c. warm water
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. soft (liquid) shortening
3 c. flour

Mix ingredients together. Roll to 1/4" thick, cut with round cutter, roll in cornmeal, let rise until double in size.

Cook on top of stove on grill (as for pancakes), ungreased, about 6 to 7 minutes on each side.
