ORANGE OATMEAL SCONES | |
1 c. flour 3 tbsp. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. finely shredded orange peel 1/3 c. butter 1 c. quick cooking rolled oats 2 lightly beaten egg whites 2 tbsp. orange juice Stir together first 4 ingredients. Cut in butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in oats. Combine egg whites and orange juice. Stir into first mixture. On a floured surface pat out a 7 inch circle. With a floured knife cut into 9-12 wedges. Brush with milk and bake on a greased cookie sheet at 400 degrees for 12-15 minutes. |
