FROSTED POLYNESIAN SALAD 
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, cooked & drained
2 green peppers, chopped
1 med. red onion, sliced thin
2 cans water chestnuts, sliced thin
Lettuce-bite size pieces
3 med. carrots, grated
2 (15 1/2 oz.) cans pineapple chunks, drained
1 (8 oz.) can sliced mushrooms, drained

Line 9 x 12 inch dish with shredded lettuce. Layer the vegetables in order given, plus pineapple. Spread with frosting, cover, chill overnight. About 2 hours before serving, sprinkle with topping.

FROSTING:

1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 1/2 c. sour cream
3 1/2 tbsp. sugar

Mix well.

TOPPING:

1/2 lb. Cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 lb. bacon, fried crisp, drained & crumbled
