FROSTED POLYNESIAN SALAD | |
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen peas, thawed 2 med. green peppers, chopped 1 med. red onion, sliced thin 2 (5 oz.) cans sliced water chestnuts, drained 3 med. carrots, grated 2 (15 1/4 oz.) cans pineapple tidbits, drained 2 (4 oz.) cans sliced mushrooms, drained 1 sm. head iceberg lettuce 1 1/2 c. mayonnaise 1 1/2 c. sour cream 5 tbsp. sugar Break lettuce into pieces and line a 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking dish with lettuce. Layer vegetables and pineapple over lettuce. Frosting: Mix mayonnaise, sour cream and sugar. Spread frosting on top of layered salad. Cover dish and chill 2 hours. Top with 12 ounce grated Cheddar cheese. Chill 2 additional hours. |
