CHEWY COCONUT DATE COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 tsp. almond extract
1/4 c. sweetened condensed milk
1 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. finely chopped nuts
1/2 c. minced dates
1/2 c. shredded coconut
1 c. rolled oats, uncooked
1 c. oat flakes

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Cream butter, add sugars gradually. Cream until fluffy. Add egg, extract and sweetened condensed milk and mix well.

Sift together flour, soda, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture and mix well.

Stir in nuts, dates, coconut, rolled oats and oat flakes.

Drop by level tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 9-11 minutes or until lightly browned.

Remove from oven and let cool about 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Makes about 3 dozen.
