BEEF PEPPER STEAK 
1/4 c. Crisco oil
1 lb. round steak, cut in strips
1 med. onion, thinly sliced
1 tsp. garlic salt
2 green peppers, thinly sliced
1 tbsp. cornstarch
1/2 c. cold water
2 tbsp. soy sauce
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. black pepper

Preheat oil in uncovered electric skillet at 325 degrees. Add meat and brown. Remove to serving dish. Add onion and peppers to skillet and cook until tender.

Dissolve cornstarch in water and soy sauce. Add sugar, garlic salt and pepper. Pour into skillet with vegetables, stirring until sauce is thickened and clear. Add meat and cook several minutes longer, until heated through. Serve over rice. 4 servings.
