SAUSAGE AND WILD RICE CASSEROLE | |
1 (6 oz.) box UNCLE BEN'S® long grain with wild rice with herb/seasonings 1 lb. sausage, mild 1/2 c. celery 1/2 c. onion 1/2 c. slivered almonds 1 sm. can sliced mushrooms 4 tsp. soy sauce Cook rice according to directions; fry on slow heat the sausage, crumbling it up. Drain well on paper towel. Saute in butter all other ingredients; celery and onions until tender, then add the almonds and mushrooms. Add soy sauce, sausage and rice; simmer until seasonings are well mixed. This can be made ahead and reheated later in a buttered casserole dish in a regular oven at medium heat or a microwave for a very short time. This casserole can be frozen too. |
