“APPLE FRITTERS” IS IN:

APPLE FRITTERS 
1 cup flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. oil
1 egg, beaten
1/3 cup milk
2 large apples, peeled, cored sliced in 1/8ths

Combine all dry ingredients. Add egg, milk and oil. Beat batter for 1 minute.

Dip apples into batter and deep fry in hot oil (365°F) for 4 minutes or until browned evenly on both sides.

My boyfriend and I are both military and we're apart a lot, but when we are home together I love making his favorite desserts. Apple Fritter is a favorite of ours and this recipe was awesome. They turned out nice and plump and I substituted canned milk because I only had 2%. The only downfall for this recipe is that it wasn't sweet enough. The next time I try this I'm going to add more sugar.

I have a bag of apples that are very small. Hardly worth peeling. I want to make the fritters but I wonder if you can tell me approximately how many cups of chopped or sliced apples I need.

2 large apples is about 3 cups sliced.
