APRICOT BARS 
1/2 c. butter
1/4 c. granulated sugar
1 1/3 c. flour, divided
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. chopped nuts
1 c. dried apricots
Confectioners sugar

Mix butter, granulated sugar and 1 cup of flour unti crumbly. Pack into a greased 8 x 8 x 2 inch pan. Bake 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cover the dried apricots with water and bring to a boil. Turn down heat and gently simmer until soft. Drain and set aside. Sift remaining flour, baking powder and salt. Beat brown sugar into eggs and stir into flour mixture. Add vanilla, nuts and apricots. Spread over baked crust. Bake 30 minuets or until done. Allow bars to cool. Cut in squares and roll in confectioner sugar.
