HOMEMADE WHITE BREAD 
2 pkgs. active dry yeast (or equivalent)
2 tbsp. honey
2 cups warm milk, divided
1/4 cup (1/2 stick) melted butter
1 tbsp. salt
6 to 7 cups unbleached all-purpose flour

Combine yeast, honey and 1/2 cup of milk together until yeast is dissolved.

Place rest of milk, butter and salt in bowl. Add yeast mixture to bowl and add flour. Knead dough for 8 to 10 minutes. Place kneaded dough in buttered bowl and let rise until doubled in bulk.

Punch dough down and knead 5 minutes. Divide dough in half and shape into loaves. Place dough in 2 buttered loaf pans and let rise until doubled in bulk.

Slash loaves with a razor and brush with water.

Bake at 400°F for approximately 40 minutes.

Makes 2 loaves.
