Fry balogna until crispy. Slather spicy brown mustard on two pieces of very soft, fresh white bread. Enjoy! The crunch of the balogna and the charred taste makes me think of a hot dog charred over a camp fire. Yummy!

Solid idea, for a variation use thick slices of bologna, pan sear until warm, add barbecue sauce and simmer until the sauce is hot, serve on hamburger bun, yum!

Please try my other bologna sandwich recipe. Bread: toasted "Texas toast", bologna: hand sliced 1/4" thick Black Bear...drool... cheese: 1/4" of pepper-jack, mustard: light coat of Guldens Spicy Brown. Wrap sandwich up with bacon pinned in place with toothpicks, dip in batter, and deep fry.
Bon appetit!

Take an uncut roll of bologna from your grocer or butcher, slather your favorite BBQ sauce, wrap in aluminum foil, bake for about an hour at 350°F, remove from oven, remove from foil, slice into desired thickness, serve on your favorite bread, bun or roll, eat until you are embarrassed. Try to get someone else to clean up for you since you cooked it.

Just looking for new recipe and spotted this one; couldn't believe someone actually submitted such a silly thing but by the time I'd read a few comments I was delighted to find myself transported to another time and place, my childhood. When I saw someone use Wonder Bread I gave out a cheer! What a joy to share with so many; however, I think I'll put mine on a plate instead of the table. LOL

Bologna sandwiches at my parent's house growing up was always fried in a cast iron frying pan or broiled in the oven. The bologna was then topped with cheese so it could melt. We always would fry up an onion as well to add to the sandwich and slathered with lots of mustard is a winning sandwich combo. YUMMO!!

So why isn't this in Comfort Foods? :) at least we all agree a Bologna Sandwich is a Good Thing, no matter how you prefer it. Written on my lunch break, as I eat my Bologna Sandwich, white bread, mustard on one side, Mayo on the other, 5-6 thin slices of Shelly Bologna folded in half, and one slice extra sharp American cheese. YUMMY LOL

I need an expert opinion. Will substituting mayo for mustard totally ruin this amazing recipe?

Needs upgrade to say - Buy/steal/posses some Oscar Myer Beef bologna (one pack) and some fresh deli-rye bread (one loaf) and buy/steal/posses a little jar of Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard. Then to make yourself a Oscar Myer Beef bologna sandwich, put the deli-rye bread down on the table, put the Oscar Myer Beef bologna (several slices) on it, optionally add good-ole KRAFT American Yella Cheese (several slices) also to it Spread the Gulden's Spicy Brown Mustard on the bologna/cheese combo Put another piece of deli-rye bread on the bologna, then eat it on up with some Ovaltine Chocolate MILK (Bud werks too!) and a on-dah side half-sliced Kosher Dill Pickle & French Fries. Then of course clean up.
