BOLOGNA SANDWICH
Buy some ham or bologna (one pack) and some bread (one loaf) and buy a little jar of mustard. Then you make yourself a bologna sandwich. Put the bread down on the table, put the bologna on it. Spread the mustard on the bologna. Put another piece of bread on the bologna, then eat it with some milk. Then clean up.

I make this with Hellmann's mayo instead of mustard. Sometimes I add a slice of American cheese. But it is crucial that all ingredients are absolutely fresh. Nothing second day. That's key here. Also really important: the mayo MUST be spread edge to edge on BOTH pieces of the bread! I liked Walter's and Cathy's versions, too.

Hilarious- talk about a hangover buster.

I'm the oldest of 8 - once a month my Dad would make at least 3 batches of these sammies, in our case, butter on one side, yellow mustard on the other, Oscar Meyer bologna in the middle. Our job was to pack them up in sam bags and stack them in the "deep freeze".

Perfect lunch for our Catholic School crowd - by the time noon rolled around, those delicious sandwiches were perfectly defrosted but still cold... Oh give me one now with chocolate milk!!!

Love this recipe. Try having it cut in the deli very thick. Fire up the grill and brush with BBQ sauce. Grillntil nicely done.. Place 2 slices grilled bologna on HB bun, add red onion, fresh tomato and arugula lettuce. That's what Alabama tailgating is talking about !!!

No you have it all wrong, this is not the way the south makes an Bologna Sandwich. First you get a frying pan then you get you a little of oil for the fryer next you let the oil get hot the get you some Bologna or some ham put in to the fryer then let the edges of the Bologna get a little burned and then take the meat out of the fryer next you get you some bread and get the mayo and put mayo on bread with a little of mustard, not a whole lot, enough to taste then put the sandwich together with Doritos on top of the meat and put the sandwich together and eat....

I was just pickling beets and came in to look something up and saw the recipe and had to look. For me it is toasted multigrain bread, Nalleys whole egg mayo on both sides, thick slice or two of onion, bologna slice and bread & butter pickles. This is died and gone to Heaven food.

I wasn't going to share "the family" secret, but here goes. Dawn (Georgia) and Barbara (US) I so agree with you. I had to use tactics that we used as a child to get by.Coming from a family of 9 children, back then we had to be creative. When my husband and I were between checks,(and he was a Sergeant in the Airforce, we would at least scrape up enough money to buy bread, bologna and tomato soup.

I'd make 4 small little slices around the bologna to flatten it, use a little margarine to fry bologna, then put mayonnaise on the 2 slices of bread and slide the fried bologna between. Compliment that sandwich with a nice bowl of warm tomato soup. So filling and satisfying makes you (wanna) want to smile.

Bologna and Oreo sandwiches are awesome!!! Twist 2 Oreos apart and place on the bologna side by side so that when you take a bite, you have bologna and Oreo in every bite!! It's really good!
