TOSTADA SALAD 
1/2 lb. hamburger
1 onion, chopped
2 (14 oz.) cans kidney beans, drained
1 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 head lettuce, cut or torn up
1/4 lb. grated cheddar cheese
1 c. Thousand Island dressing
1 (6 oz.) pkg. tortilla chips
2-4 tomatoes, cut in chunks
1 avocado, sliced (opt.)

Brown meat with onion in a large skillet, drain excess fat. Add beans and seasoning; cover and simmer 10 minutes. In a large bowl, combine lettuce, cheese, dressing, chips, tomatoes and avocado (if desired). Add meat mixture while still warm and toss. Serves 6 to 8.
