NACHOS CASSEROLE | |
1 c. chunky taco sauce 1 (4 oz.) can green chilies, chopped 1 lb. ground beef 1/2 c. chopped onions 1/4 tsp. ground cumin 2 c. cheddar cheese (8 oz.) 1/2 c. water 4 c. corn flakes cereal 1 c. refried beans Combine taco sauce and chilies; set aside. In large fry pan cook ground beef and onions until meat is brown. Drain off excess drippings. Add cumin, beans, 1 cup shredded cheese, half of taco sauce mixture and water. Pour 2 cups corn flakes into lightly greased 12 x 7 1/2 x 2 inch (2 quart) baking dish. Cover with meat mixture, sprinkle with remaining corn flakes. Bake at 350 degrees about 25-30 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake just until cheese melts. Garnish with chopped tomatoes, sour cream, chopped green onions, and sliced olives if desired. Serves 6. |
