Just use the most common size available in your local store or pantry.

Sweetened condensed milk only comes in one size (14 oz.). Do not use evaporated milk!!

 Annamint (United Kingdom) replies:
No, Sweetened Condensed Milk DOESN'T come in a single size, in fact, in England it's often sold in squeezable bottles now, also of varying different quantities. If you just say the quantity of the tin, that's better than insisting that you can only get it in one size. It has a common size, that's not quite the same thing.

Either use half a full size can, or one small size can per bag of chips used, this recipe is based on the generic American small can of condensed sweetened milk, large cans are not as common as the small cans.

This looks interesting! Although, I must say that I live in the United States and I have only ever seen one size can of sweetened condensed milk. There are no other sizes that I am aware of here. It comes in a small, short can.

I have been making this for YEARS it great! you can add all kinds of goodness to it. like almonds and mini marshmallows Tried the white chips but they seize up so I use the white candy melts. I like to add candy canes to it. Looking for a way to make a maple flavor, any ideas?

Cherries and vanilla should be with nuts as optional. It won't impact the recipe if you wanna leave them out. Makes great fudge. And for those wondering I'm pretty sure it's a 14 oz. can to a cup of chocolate chips. If I recall, it makes a about 1-inch layer of fudge in an 8x8 pan.

Maple Walnut Fudge variation: Substitute Maple Extract for the Vanilla, use white chocolate chips or candy melts and add toasted walnuts. Maple Walnut Fudge is awesome and addicting! I found Maple Extract at Walmart and Safeway, and added a teaspoon of it to Rice Krispy Treats, yum!
