1 c. shortening
3/4 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. chocolate chips
Combine 1 tsp. baking soda and 2 tbsp. boiling water
2 1/2 c. flour

Cream shortening with sugars. Add eggs, vanilla, and soda mixture. Add chips and flour. Bake at 350 degrees 10-12 minutes.
