ESCALLOPED CABBAGE CASSEROLE | |
1 head cabbage, cut up Black pepper Velveeta cheese slices Crushed soda crackers 1/4 c. melted butter 1/4 c. milk Cook cabbage in salted water until tender, 5 to 6 minutes. Drain. In a baking dish layer some cabbage, sprinkle some pepper, layer cheese and then cracker crumbs. Repeat. Finish with a layer of buttered bread crumbs (3/4 cup cracker crumbs mixed with 1/4 cup melted butter). Pour milk around edges. Bake or heat in microwave until heated through. This vegetable dish will be eaten by those who won't normally eat vegetables. |
