HAMBURGER-CABBAGE CASSEROLE 
4 c. chopped cabbage
1 lb. hamburger
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1/4 c. water
1 c. bread crumbs
1/4 tsp. grated lemon rind
1 c. minced onion
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
Sliced cheese
Buttered bread crumbs

Place cabbage in bottom of a greased baking dish. Add salt, pepper and water. Cover and place in oven at 375 degrees.

Mix bread crumbs, milk, grated lemon rind and beat well with fork. Mix the crumb mixture with hamburger, onion, egg, salt and pepper. Form into cake size of baking dish.

Place on to of cabbage. Return to oven uncovered and when meat is brown, place sliced cheese on top, sprinkle with buttered crumbs. Return to oven until cheese melts. Total time in oven, 30 minutes.
