SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. sour cream
3/4 c. cold water
2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
2 tsp. baking soda
4 heaping tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar, shortening and eggs together. Dissolve soda in sour cream and add to mixture. Add water. Sift flour and cocoa together. Add to mixture. Add flavoring. Bake in moderate oven for 30 minutes.

FUDGE FROSTING:

1 c. sugar
1/4 c. butter
1/8 c. cocoa
1/4 c. milk
Pinch of salt

Cook to a full boil. Boil 1 minute. Remove and whip. Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
