SOUR CREAM-CHOCOLATE COFFEE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
Dash of salt
1 c. sour cream

CHOCOLATE LAYER:

1/2 c. chocolate chips
1/4 c. chopped nuts
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter and 1 cup sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Add vanilla. Add flour, soda, powder and salt alternately with sour cream. Spoon 1/2 of the batter into a greased 9 inch square pan.

Combine chocolate chips, nuts and remaining 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl. Sprinkle over batter carefully spreading with spatula to form smooth layer. Top with rest of batter. Bake 30-35 minutes until cake tester inserted in middle comes out clean. Cool in pan. Serves 9.
