SOUR CREAM CHOCOLATE CAKE 
1/2 c. butter, soft
1/4 c. shortening
2 c. brown sugar, packed
2 tsp. vanilla
3 eggs
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate, melted
1 c. sour cream
2 1/2 c. cake flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2/3 c. water

Preheat the oven at 350 degrees. Grease and flour pans. Cream butter, shortening, sugar, and vanilla. Add eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Blend melted chocolate and sour cream and add this to the batter, mixing well. Add dry ingredients together with the water and mix thoroughly with the batter until it is thick and smooth. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes. Cool before frosting.
