WHEAT GERM CHOCOLATE CHIP PIE 
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup wheat germ
2 eggs
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 (9-inch) pastry shell, unbaked

Melt butter and cool. Gradually beat in sugar. Add wheat germ, eggs, chocolate pieces and vanilla. Beat with spoon until creamy and blended (about 2 minutes). Fill pastry shell.

Bake at 350°F 40 to 45 minutes. Knife inserted in center should come out clean. Top with whipped cream or ice cream and sprinkle with wheat germ if desired.

I found this recipe in a newspaper about forty years ago. It's a family favorite and a must have at all our family get togethers! I thought I was the only person who had this recipe as it was so old and no one we know has ever heard of it. My daughter phoned yesterday to ask me to bake one for her work get together and it made me wonder if there was a recipe out there... so I checked the Internet and was I surprised!
