BARBECUE SAUCE (SPARE RIBS,
CHICKEN, MEATLOAF)
 
1 c. chopped onion
1/3 c. salad oil

Saute onion in oil until soft. Add:

3 tbsp. brown sugar
4 tsp. dry mustard
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
3 tsp. paprika
1 1/2 c. catsup
1 c. water
3/4 c. vinegar
3 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Few drops hot pepper sauce
2 cloves garlic, chopped

Simmer 15 minutes. Keeps indefinitely in refrigerator. Makes 1 quart.
