DATE LOAF 
2 c. sugar
1 c. Pet milk (or diluted half and half)
1 lb. dates
1 lb. pecans
1 tsp. butter

Boil sugar with milk until you can catch it in cold water. Add dates and stir until dissolved. Let boil a minute, then add nuts and butter. Let cool a little. Stir all ingredients together and pour into a wet towel. Shape the loaf any size desired. Put in refrigerator. Cut when cooled, or as needed.
