ITALIAN ALMOND COOKIES 
1 stick butter
1 box dark brown sugar
3 eggs
3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 dash salt
1 tbsp. almond extract
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 to 1 lb. sliced almonds

Melt butter and brown sugar together. Add eggs, mix well. Add flour and other ingredients. Fold in almonds. Shape mix into 6 narrow loaves on cookie sheet. Bake 20 to 30 minutes at 375 degrees, until lightly browned. Cut while slightly warm with sharp knife.
