CRAZY CAKE 
Put the following in 9 x 13 inch ungreased pan:

3 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. cocoa

Add:

1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. vinegar
3/4 c. oil

Pour 2 cups of water over mixture and blend with fork. DO NOT BEAT. Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees.

II - FILLING:

Gradually blend 1/2 cup milk with 2 1/2 tablespoons flour and cook until thick paste. Meanwhile cream:

1/2 c. Crisco
1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt

Add paste (cooled) to this and beat until fluffy. Fold in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and spread on cooled cake.

III - FROSTING:

2 tbsp. cocoa
1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. (scant) milk
1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
