AUNT SARAH'S VEGETABLE PUDDING 
1/2 c. melted butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. coarsely grated raw carrots
1 c. coarsely grated raw potatoes
1 c. chopped raisins

Sift together: 1 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cinnamon Vanilla if you wish

Combine all ingredients, steam in covered container 3 hours. Serve with whipped cream or any hot pudding sauce. Can be reheated in oven.

I use a 5 cup greased mold and cover with heavy aluminum foil. Place on a trivet in covered kettle. Pour in enough boiling water to reach half way up mold as it cooks. Add more water to keep up steam. A family favorite, very economical. Serves 8.
