KATH'S STUFFED MUSHROOMS | |
These are really good! 1 (8 oz.) pkg. whole button mushrooms 1/2 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 4 tbsp. finely shredded cheddar cheese 2 tbsp. finely chopped onion and celery 2 slices bacon, cooked to a crisp and crumbled 1 tsp. pepper 1 (6 oz.) can crab meat, finely chopped (optional) Preheat oven to 350°F. Take the stem off and clean out the gills of the mushrooms. (I wash mine to get the dirt off although they say not to cause it makes the mushrooms tough. I've done it both ways and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference). Mix all the rest of the ingredients and taste to see if you want more of anything. I really don't measure anything just eyeball it, so the measurements for this are approximate but pretty close. Stuff the mushrooms not heaping, just above level. Spray a cookie sheet or cake pan with non-stick cooking spray (Pam) and bake at 350°F for about 25 minutes or so. When most of the liquid is gone they are done. Submitted by: Kathleen Brose |
