“ORANGE COOKIES” IS IN:

ORANGE COOKIES 
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup sugar
grated rind of 1 orange
1 egg, well beaten
3 cups sifted all-purpose flour
4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 cup orange juice

Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, creaming until light and fluffy. Add the grated orange rind and well beaten egg.

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together and add to the creamed mixture alternately with the orange juice.

Chill dough in refrigerator for 1/2 hour or more.

Roll out on floured surface and cut with small cookie cutter.

Place on a greased baking sheet, sprinkle with granulated sugar.

Bake in moderately hot oven (400°F) for about 12 minutes.

Makes 8 dozen small cookies.
