HERB ROLLS 
3 c. water
3 pkg. dry yeast
1 egg
9 c. flour
6 tbsp. sugar
3 tsp. salt
9 tbsp. shortening
1 tbsp. basil
1 tbsp. oregano
3/4 c. minced onion
3 c. shredded cheese

Dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand a few minutes. Blend in egg, shortening, sugar, salt and 1/2 of flour. Beat well. Add flour and mix well. Then add herbs, onion and cheese. Cover, let rise until double. Punch down and put in greased muffin tins. Let rise. Add more flour for thicker dough if you desire. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 to 25 minutes.
