SHRIMP GUMBO 
3 tbsp. shortening
1 med. onion, chopped
1 sm. bell pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, chopped

Place in skillet and saute until tender.

1 tbsp. file
1 1/2 tsp. seafood seasoning
1 tbsp. chili powder
2 tbsp. flour
Salt
Pepper

Mix together. Stir in with other ingredients and simmer 1 minute. Mixture may stick.

Place in large pan:

1 can tomatoes
1 can tomato soup
1 qt. water
1 tbsp. Worcestershire
Hot sauce

Let come to a boil. then add ingredients from skillet; be sure to scrape skillet. Let simmer 1 hour. Then, add 3 lb. shrimp. Simmer about 15 minutes. Serve over rice.
