PEANUT BUTTER BAR COOKIES 
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup peanut butter (your choice)
1/2 cup white sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/4 cup water
1 to 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 (6 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease 9x13-inch pan.

Mix shortening, peanut butter, sugars and egg thoroughly. Stir in water. Then stir in flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and lastly, chocolate chips. Spread in pan.

Bake at 375°F for about 20 minutes. While warm, spread with the following glaze.

GLAZE:

2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 tbsp. butter
1 cup confectioners' sugar
3/4 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. hot water

Melt chocolate and butter of low heat; stir in confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Stir in about 2 tablespoons hot water (1 tablespoon at a time) until glaze is of spreading consistency.
