JOSH'S FAVORITE CHOCOLATE CHIP
COOKIES
 
1 c. butter, softened
3/4 c. granulated sugar
3/4 c. packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 c. chopped nuts (opt.)

Heat oven to 375 degrees. Mix butter, sugars, and egg. Stir in flour, baking soda and salt (dough will be stiff). Stir in chocolate chips and nuts (if using). Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2" apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes (centers will be soft). Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
