WHOLE WHEAT SOUR CREAM COFFEE
CAKE
 
1 3/4 c. whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1/8 tsp. salt
1/2 c. butter, softened
2/3 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sour cream

Mix flour, baking powder, soda and salt; set aside. In large bowl beat butter, sugar, eggs and vanilla until light and fluffy. At low speed stir in sour cream alternately with flour mixture until blended. Spread 1/3 of batter in greased 9" square pan. Sprinkle on about 1/2 cup filling. Repeat layering twice. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 to 45 minutes. Cool slightly. Makes 9 servings.

BRAN NUT FILLING: Mix 1/3 cup packed brown sugar, 1/2 cup bran flake cereal, 1/3 to 1/2 cup chopped nuts and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
