BROCCOLI SALAD 
1/2 lb. bacon
1/2 c. cheddar cheese, shredded or diced
1 med. onion, diced
1 head broccoli
1/4 c. (scant) sugar
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 1/2 tsp. vinegar

Fry bacon until very crisp. Crumble. Cut flowerettes into bite-size pieces and add bacon, cheese and onion. Mix together and let stand in refrigerator. Just before serving, combine sugar, mayonnaise and vinegar and mix well. Then add to other ingredients and mix well.
