TACO SALAD 
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1/2 med. onion, chopped
7 oz. kidney beans, drained
1/4 pkg. taco seasoning mix
1 head lettuce
1 med. tomato
1 sm. green pepper
1/4 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 c. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/2 c. broken corn chips
Taco sauce

Crumble meat into medium size glass bowl, mix onion in and microwave at High for 4 1/2 minutes to 6 1/2 (or until it changes color). Stir once to break up the meat during this cooking. Drain and stir in beans and taco seasoning. Microwave (uncovered) at medium 10-13 minutes longer (or until bubbly), stirring once.

Meanwhile, tear the lettuce to bite-size pieces, slice the tomato, chop the pepper, and arrange these on a salad plate. Spoon the meat mixture over and top with cheeses and corn chips. Serve at once with taco sauce.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
