1 gallon Lodi applesauce
8 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
1/8 tsp. ginger

Dash of nutmeg, dash of salt. Cook until dark enough and thick enough. With Grimes Golden apples, use 6 cups sugar.
